Do you feel old, yet? I certainly do. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has turned 10 years old yesterday, do you feel it now?

On March 20th, 2006 many people, probably thousands including myself in that deep sea of people  disappeared into the capital of Tamerial – a world  populated by NPCs and random encounters.

Oblivion doesn’t look good now, but it was stunning back in 2006. Rolling hills, farms and small villages and stunning landscapes all looked great. From vampires that walked the quiet roads to traveling to the realm of the Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath in the Shivering Isles and to experiencing the Dark Brotherhood for the first time.

This way to the Imperial City.

Much like 2008’s Fallout 3, in Oblivion it was a wonder to discover these things, these random encounters, walking upon these locations and travelling to a different part of Tamerial. I’m sure I’m going to look at this and say this through rose-tinted glasses but out of all the games that released in 2006; The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has stuck with me through time and I have fond memories of that game, especially the opening in the cell where you created your own character and then you had to aid the King and find his brother afterwards was really memorable.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a miraculous game, one of great virtue and one of the best games of all time, if you still have that Xbox 360 or a PC that can run it now, please play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and it’s expansions; Knights of the Nine and The Shivering Isles   and experience that wonder all over again.

Happy Birthday to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
