Opinion: TW3’s Side Quests Should Be a Role Model for Every WRPG

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt and it’s expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are proper ways to do an RPG and a proper way on how to create an expansion pack for a large game. It is to me, in my opinion is what Skyrim or Fallout 4 should have been back in 2011 and November of 2015 when Fallout 4 dropped, I rightfully believe that The Witcher 3 is something that every Roleplaying game, even Fallout and The Elder Scrolls should look up to.

If every Roleplaying game ended up being like The Witcher 3, then many people would be in trouble. For the last 2 months, I’ve been playing The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, finishing it up and putting a bow on it and my time with The Witcher 3 is over and the ending is what I truly wanted for Geralt in the end. I have moved on to greener pastures but I still think of the game and the impact it had on me, personally.

I remember the late nights last summer as I wrapped up another side quest before doing another story mission in search of the Baron’s family, this game was massive before the Expansions and even now, it is still a massive game combined with the Expansions that released last summer and this past May, and now in a Post-Witcher world every Western RPG should live up to what The Witcher 3 did and should live up to the bar that The Wild Hunt has set.

This is why I love The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt so much and The Witcher saga as a whole as it falls as one of the top RPG trilogies since Mass Effect 3 finished up in 2012, you stay up late at night to wrap up another quest in what seems like a game that could go on forever but as a finite end but post-questline, the game goes on which is forever but in terms of story, the story has ended. Once the story concludes, you could go on and do the side quests, what is left of it anyway and hunt for treasures and hunt for witcher gear to make Geralt even more powerful. The side quests are connected to the story and is a obligation for you to do it and some are not, once you do them however you meet characters that are filled with life and brimming with personality.

The characters make you think and make you feel, tug at the heartstrings and inspire you and inspire the imagination. CDPR wants you to invest your time and invest your imagination in a game that is massive in terms of characters, plotlines, and scale.

Damn, this game is a masterpiece and this game is what every single Western RPG should inspire to and should inspire to be like. It is not often that we get a game like The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt where it’s a pleasure to spend your time in a world that is beautiful, scary ,and wondrous.

Perhaps the most touching thing about The Witcher 3 itself is that it doesn’t allow you to save the world, but makes the world around you a little bit better because who doesn’t need a Monster Hunter and a Professional once in a while.
